loss of NTFS/folders loss of profile

Two weeks ago I had w2000 system go wacky.....the folder
on the c drive (only 1 drive)went missing. It gave me
and event 55, "file structure on the disk is currupt and
unusable. Please run chkdsk utility" I tested the
hardware with Dell diag. and used chkdsk.exe. I found no
errors. I reloaded system and for two weeks it was ok.
Today the users profile went MIA and luckily I saved it
somewhere else and got it back. What is worng with the
pc? I was thinking HD but found nothing wrong. Looking
for suggestions!!
