Loss of Focus

Been using Office 2000 for many years. I recently purchased a new machine and
did a clean install of Office 2003 on this new platform. But, from the start,
I've had this nagging problem (that ONLY shows up in Outlook) with Windows
losing video focus on which Window should be in front. For example, if I am
looking at Outlook's Inbox of emails and double-click on a message to display
it, it SOMETIMES (not always) will open the message BEHIND the main Outlook
window. Indeed, trying to click on the frame which may be peeking out from
behind the main window also does NOT bring the message window forward. The
ONLY way to see this window, when this happens, is to minimize Outlook's main
application window.

In addition, again sometimes but not always, when Outlook is minimized,
clicking on the Outlook button in the Taskbar will make it appear as though
the Outlook application window has been restored but it's not. The only way
to see it, is to minimize the current window(s).

The motherboard is an Intel D915GAVL with the latest video drivers from
Intel. And the issue does NOT show up on any other program on my system.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Diane,

I'm a (very) old MVP from the '90s. Thanks for trying to assist me. Yes, I
have SP1 installed on the Office Suite (fully patched with everything from
the Office Update site). And Windows XP Pro is also fully patched and
upgraded, running SP2...

There's 2GB of RAM installed (shared with the on-board Intel video
accelerator). Any other ideas?
