I have the "Favorites" button enabled in the menu bar of my Explorer page,
but when I press it, it does not direct me to the favorites folder - nothing
actually happens, almost as if it were disabled. I am using XP Pro on an
office LAN.

I tried to remove the button from the menu bar and then reinsert it, but
that did not help, and also tried the solution offered in another thread:
<http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFAQ.htm#favorites> with no luck.

I have had a look at other guys machines in the office and their machines
work fine when they press the favorites button.

Any suggestions that may assistme?

The solution offered by Ramesh works like a dream:

Click Start, Run and type:
regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll
