Windows Explorer Favorites - Loss of Functionality

G

Guest

I have the "Favorites" button enabled in the menu bar of my Windows Explorer
page, but when I press it, it does not direct me to the favorites folder - it
toggles between the "files and folders info" LH pane and the "folders" LH
pane. I am using XP Pro on an office LAN.

The favourites command works fine in my office applications like Word and
Excel on file open command and in Internet explorer. I have had a look at
other guys' machines in the office and their Favorites work fine.

I tried to remove the button from the menu bar and then reinsert it, but
that did not help, and also tried the solution offered in another thread:
<http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFAQ.htm#favorites> with no luck. I have changed
the registry settings to "%USERPROFILE%\Favorites" and modified the Type to
REG_EXPAND_SZ.

Any suggestions that may assist me please?
