Loss of Conection to Exchange

K

Keith

We have just upgraded all our system. We were previously on Novell.
We now have Windows 2003 server and 2003 Exchange server. The computers are
all running XP pro and Office 2007.

Our laptops connect in through a Juniper VPN link. This has all been working
great, but now slowly but surely our laptops are not being able to connect to
exchange. They come in as normal, they can access shared network drives and
can ping the Exchange server without any problems, but Outlook won't connect
to Exchange.

Has anybody come across this problem before? Nothing has changes. One day no
problem then next no access. Also, once the connection doesn’t work it never
seems to work again.

HELP!!!!!

So what changed?
Verify the firewall settings on the clients that Outlook can make
connections to the network.

That's just it. Nothing has changed. And I have even totaly disables the
firewalls on the clients, but it hasn't made any difference.

Can you bring up the Connection Status dialog by holding CTRL and right
clicking the Outlook Notification Area icon? What are the results?
In addition you can check the Event Viewer on the clients and the Exchange
server and see what's reported there. The next step would be to enable
logging in Outlook.
