Losing USB Connection

[GBEE]

I have an HP1000 USB printer attached to a PC running XP.
I share this printer with a second XP machine. I
regularly lose connection form the second PC. Only way is
to reboot. Any ideas how to overcome this problem.

Check the PC isn't set to turn off power to the USB ports to save power.

In the Device Manager, scroll down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers,
click on the + to expland the tree and doubleclick on each USB... look in
the Power Management tab.
