losing logout in new window

john

There are a couple of sites I use that have login access. They also have
reports I can view, but these open in a new window. However, when the new
window opens, instead of my report it is asking me to log in, then when I
log in I just get to the site not the report.

I'm guessing this is some security setting in IE (it works fine in firefox),
but I can't figure out what - I have it set to accept cookies etc and have
even added the sites to the 'allow always' list...

Hi John,

Contact the webmasters of the sites concerned, it appears that they are not
tracking your login status during site navigation.

Another thought is to check the setting for "Reuse windows for launching
shortcuts" on the Advanced tab of Internet Options which may cause the
report to open in the same IE window and maintain your logon status. This is
not a pernament solution though. Its a design "feature" of the web sites
that has to be corrected.

Regards.

unfortunately this happens on several websites, so they are unlikely to
change for me. I have contacted a couple, and they're all like "it works ok
for us, it must be your cookies or something". The fact that it works in
firefox as well makes it more likely to be my IE setup.
