Losing Links between PowerPoint and Excel

I have a presentation that has about 40 linked charts in it that I update
weekly. Every week I have to "relink" (copy and paste link) from the Excel
source about half of the charts. And it is a different set each week.
Nothing is changing within the files other than data update - so I can't seem
to figure out what is causing the links to be lost. The source files have
not moved either.

I am running PowerPoint 2007.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I am so tired of copying and
pasting links - I never had this problem before Office 2007.

Thank you very much for the information. That is the error message I keep
getting and it might help. I am going to try it out.
