losing items from sent folder when I double click to open them.

want to read and 'copy/paste' bits from my sent items emails in outlook 2003.
Help says to open the sent items folder and double click the item to open
it. with some mails this works but for some they just disappear and are not
even in the deleted items folder. why do some disappear and can I get those
ones back at all.

it sounds like you are in a filtered view of the Sent items - check your
view!
