losing internet connection

am on xp, and everytime i try to connect to internet it
takes several attempts b4 it will stop on and then it
will only stop on for 10/15 minutes at a time, then
dissconnect.

Please repost with more information about your system, including details
about your Internet connection (mode/ISP). Include information about
whether you have *ever* been able to connect, what changed between the
time it worked and the time it didn't, and the results of a scan with a
current (post-2002 version using updated definitions) antivirus
program.

go to 'start', 'settings', 'network connections', right-click your
connection and click 'properties'. go into your 'options' tab, change option
for 'idle time before hanging up' to 'never', 'OK'.
