Hi all.

Oke lets see if somebody can help me.
The last 3 weeks we are having troubles with our Windows XP SP2 Clients.

What is the problem?
Clients lose there network connection. No event view is generatord. User are
not allowd to save any data on the network (winows 2003 standard file server
and windows 2000 standard server).
This problem comes and go's for some users other users have the problem all
the time.

What did we do so far?
1. We have installed the computers with a new images
Result: Problem is gone for a day or 2.
2. We have tried new user profiles on the computers with the problems.
Result: Problem still excist.
3. We have given a user with this problem domain admin rights.
Result: Problem Still excist (error message: the network connection is lost)
But you can still brower the network shares. but not save any data
4. We have tried the a different VLAN
Result: Problem still excist.
5. We have tried is on a different server
Result: Same error message
6. We have tried it with a different domain policy.
Result: problem still excist

If anyone have any idea. Please let me know

Maarten,

Give us some clues here, please.

How many clients and how many servers are we talking about? Are all computers
on the same subnet? How many computers might see the problem, at any one time?
How do you recover from the problem, immediately?

What exact error do you see when "not allowed to save"? How often does this
happen?

Do you use roaming profiles? Do your users move from computer to computer? Is
there any defining characteristic in group 1 ("problem comes and go's for some
users"), group 2 ("other users have the problem all the time"), and is there a
group 3 (some users never see the problem)?

Are there any computers that similarly might fall into groups 1, 2, and / or 3?
Or are all computers equally susceptible to the problem?

When the problem occurs, can you "see" the server in question in Network
Neighbourhood / My Network Places? Can you ping the server by name / IP
address?
