Losing Advanced Properties For Pictures In WIndows XP Windows Explorer

When my JPEG files are freshly transferred from the
camera, they have advanced properties, such as Date
Picture Taken, Camera Model, etc.. But whenever I
transfer those files, either to another computer through
a LAN, or to a CD or DVD, those properties no longer show.

Is there a way to avoid that?

Thanks,

Ricardo

Some programs will alter your EXIF info. The following
free program will allow you to backup and restore
that info.

I also made another quite interesting observation: the EXIF properties are not actually lost in the transfer, it just seems that Windows XP won't show them. Here's what I did

1. Took an original picture on my laptop. EXIF properties can be seen

2. Copied the picture to another PC at home. EXIF properties CANNOT be seen on the destination PC

3. Copied the file back to its original location on the laptop. EXIF props. are visible again

4. Even better yet: through a share on the destination PC, I look at the properties on the picture just copies. EXIF properties are present!!

Could it be that this is that a configurable option in WIndows XP? If not, what can I do to allow the destination PC to show the EXIF props

Thanks in advance

Ricardo.
