This win2K system has been very stable for years and has been running
the latest SP for at least a year. Today I was using it and fine then
I closed down and attached a serial monitor calibrator that is often
used on this computer and at start up at the login box the mouse pointer
failed to work and also the keyboard.

I then started but without the calibrator connected and the same thing
happened. I restarted and then at the point where I should be seeing
the login box there was nothing apart from the normal blue screen (not
blue screen meaning problems!) I then started in safe mode and that
was fine all the way this time. Checked in D Manager for problems but
none found. Restarted in normal mode and still the same problems.
Can anyone throw any light on my problems please?

Thanks

Richard

Sorry to have been so dull......I suddenly remembered that I had left a
CS in the CD drive and this machine has not liked this for quite a time.
Problem solved but may I ask what I can do to solve this issue, apart
from improving my memory!

Thanks

Richard
