Loosing bios settings

Been having this problem for a few days.Initially thought it was the HD that
failed so used another one and got the system running again.Next day same
problem in that pc would not boot beyond finding the atapti rom drive.I went
into the bios and restored the defaults and everything working,even the old
drive.Tonight back to square one and I cannot get the bios to open.Help
pls?I've the pc started now using XP in the drive but it
only shows the floppy drive and C drive in my computer.My E and D drives are
missing.
 
Replace the CMOS battery on the mobo.
