loose connection with other user account on same pc

My primary owner account in Win XP Home, connects
on LAN just fine. However, sometimes my wifes
account will not connect. Ping shows dropped packets.

The problem clears itself when I reset the interface.

Any long term recommendations to solve this?

Eric,

please have a look at http://www.michna.com/kb/WxNetwork.htm.
You may want to check your computer for unwanted adware and
repair the Winsock.
