It would be nice to right click a movie clip on the internet and choose save
it to one's hard drive for later viewing. As this does not seem to be an
option then is there freeware out there that will capture the picture and
sound much like the myriad of programs out there that will capture streaming
sounds on the internet?
If there are such programs then none showed up in searches. So could any of
you guys post your favorites and the URLs
Thank you

I don't know such a capture and don't think it's a good idea.
These videos are highly compressed and caputre with a new
encoding will result in very large files and/or big quality
loss.

It may be better to look, what format the specific videos are
and if the can be saved in some way. Often you can find bigger
files in your browsers cache and these are your watched movies.
Then you must find out, what format their in, often a right
click in browser can help. Flash for example has it's own
video format (.flv), there have been threads about players and
decoders in this groups in the last weeks. For example this
player: nFLVPlayer
http://www.zeraha.org/content/dload.php?action=file&file_id=37

This is an example, maybe there are sites where no such solution
is available, but I believe if you ask for specific sites you
will get help here in most cases.

Regards,
Thorsten

I use http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php
Most are saved as FLV files. Check out the Help section for programs to
convert FLV to other formats.
I use Windows Media Recorder 8 (WMR8), the last freeware version, to record
streaming video.

And where do I find the last freeware version of WMR8? A search has NOT
turned that version up for me.

Well, just a note on the side : If you don't have the option do save a
clip there is often a reason for it, like copyright or licensing
issues. They simply don't want you to download the movie to your
computer and eventualy share it via other resources. So keep in mind if
you do that, you might be in violation of their terms and conditions.

Cheers.
