Looking for Freeware Trojan scanner

I am looking for a freeware Trojan scanner.

I am running Norton Anti Virus and using Zone Alarm as a fire wall, however
I sometimes get the feeling something is running in the background that
should not be there. I might just be paranoid.

I used a keylogging program at work to keep an eye on my computer if I was
out the office, No scanning by the Network Admin ever picked it up, I could
have set it up to e-mail logs to me when I left the company.

Sorry unfortunately nothing good exists in the freeware category.

There are some like SWATit but it's bad.

Then there are other programs like ad-aware and spybot S&D which are free
and deal with mainly adware programs, browser hijacks and a very limited
class of trojans and kegloggers.

Ad-aware and Spybot S&D don't really protect you from "real" remote admin
type trojans or most keyloggers.

You probably are. Make sure you have good physical controls over your
computer and you will be fine.

Actually Norton is pretty good in detecting Trojans compared to most
antiviruses. However, many Commerical keyloggers are not detected by most
common anti-virus programs to prevent employees from detecting it with
their Norton etc programs because they have a deal in place, or so I read.

Though there are specialised non-freeware alternatives that are known to be
effective keylogger scanners (and many of them actually come from the
people who make the keyloggers themselves!), none are freeware , some
limited demos only provide detection (pest patrol i think also has a
website for scanning).

Thanks Aaron

I am using Spybot S&D as well, but you know what they say, you can never
have too much protection.

I like double-checking with TrendMicro's Housecall:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com

I've had good luck with it cleaning things that Norton 2003 won't.
