I don't do .avi files, so sorry but I can't help you there.

Looking for a freeware that can combine more than one mpeg or avi movie
I use Concat, a single executable that works very well. It's in French, but if
you know that "creer" means "create" and "quitter" means "exit," you can handle
it.
I don't know the URL where it's available, but I suppose a search will ferret
it out.
