freeware like vcdcutter.

hi,
i am using one software namely , vcdcutter ,whch allow me to cut and join
the mpeg files & avi files so to keep sections of one movie which i need and
erase sections which i don't need. This software works great and in a rather
fast speed.
however it's commeccial ware i just wonder is there any freeware which could
do the similar jobs ?
