Looking for a clever folder splitter !

Hello,

I'm looking for a good folder splitter to put around 15Go of folders
onto CDs. I've tried many freewares and sharewares but it needs to :

- put splitted folders uncompressed on CD for direct access (unlike most
of the programs that Zip or have their own split-and-join format)

- put parts of splitted folders on succesive CDs (unlike Burned To The
Brim that can spread folders anywhere to save space)

- be able to keep those splitted folders on the HD instead of direct
burning ("Backup to CDRW made simple" from Willow Creek was almost
perfect but failed on burning the 5th CD, without possibilty to resume,
so I can't trust direct burning)

I could use some backup software but I can't see a way to make a virtual
700MB volume and simulate media swap when full...

If you know any other software that could do the job...

To make it simple : split 15Go of folders (without large files, only
many small Words docs) into 700Mo folders on the hard-disk.

Many thanks.

Make the zips self extracting?

Nope ! The files must be visible directly on the CD (for the average user !)

Thanks anyway...

Perhaps:

Size 'Em

Tired of dragging files onto a zip disk to find out they don't fit?
Tired of dragging files to a CD burner software only to find out you are
overtime? Tired of pulling properties on folders to see what will fit
and what won't? Well if you answered yes to any of these, you have found
your saviour. This app will scan an entire directory (and browse into
sub folders) and present you with sizes of every folder there. You
simply enter how much space you have on the CD (perhaps you are adding
to an existing session?), zip or whatever. Click the CD button (no it
doesn't care what media you are using). It will attempt to select
files/folders that fit up to that maximum size you set in the little box
under the button. Once the folders are selected, the program will
optionally move the selection to a specified folder (point it to your
ZIP disk or a temp folder for burning to CD). This puppy will save you
hours trying to fit files onto a CD/R. ~679Kb On my MMedia2 page or

Thanks for your answers.

I tried both Sorted and Size'em but they fail on the number of files I
have :

- Sorted wants me to wait for the "PRO" version to go beyond the 32000
files limit. It would have been perfect otherwise.

- Size'em simply crashes !

If you have any other freeware in mind...
