Hello,
I havea difficult problem in that my system hangs on "windows is huting
down" and never turns off. (unless I manually hold the on/off for 3 secs)
I have already done chkdsk. Interestingly, it was able to do a restart
without my intervention. But the shutdown trouble was not resolved.
Then I tried to install UPHClean, but got a message that "another
installation was in progress..." with a try again and cancel option.
Here's where it gets complicated.
I have had an ongoing issue with a windows installer dialog popping up and
closing whenver I open Micorsoft Money.
A few months ago, I thought upgrading Money might help and purchased the
latest version of Money. But I cannot install it either as it says another
installation is in progress when Money tries to remove the old version.
Are the shutdown and Money "installation" issue s related?
More to the point, can I fix my ssytem without a total wipe and reinstall of
the OS?
For the record, all of these troubles started way back over one year ago
after installing SP2 (which was uninstalled and reintalled 2 times to no
avail after initially reporting the trouble)
Any ideas?
