I have a dell-5100, running on xp, and wireless. I
recently noticed that it takes almost a full minute
before windows completely loads. I tried almost every
remedy suggested by microsofts knowledgebase. No help so
far. Any suggestions.

the only thing i can think of is lots of start up tasks. try going to start,
run, type in msconfig, check in the boot and start up panes and see what is
there. disable what you don't need.

It can be caused by Zone Alarm (if you have it installed) in conjunction
with your virus software.
That is what happen to me. I had to reinstall XP (by ghosting it) and
installed free Outpost firewall.

I have this problem since installing a Linksys 54G
wireless PC Card on my laptop. If I pull the card out
the laptop boots up fast. If I leave it in, it boots for
a long time. I have not found a solution yet.
