Im using a laptop connected to my desktop via wireless. Can i bypass the
logon screen and boot directly to my desktop? XP home edition w/sp2.

Did that except it only works at restart. Then goes back to the logon screen.

if you still have the network icon please click it
click the property button; then click uninstall client. Once you done you
will be prompt to restart your pc, do so. Once you restart your machine it
will be at the welcome sign.
Ps: Please try that solution first on your laptop and if it does not work,
do it your PC which is the network holder because network goes by protocols
and these settings can and will affect all computers in the network including
your laptop and printers.
