Logon takes a long time

Every time I reboot my computer, it boots up decently fast to the
logon screen. When I try to log on, however, it hangs on the "Loading
personal settings" screen for about 10 minutes before logging on. It
only does this the first time after rebooting though. If I just log
off, then log back on, it goes fine. Any thoughts?
