logon password

I just installed a retail version of XP Pro that I
personally bought. The first time I started it it asked
for my password. I never gave it a password. I have tried
the alt-control-delete deal and it doesn't work either. I
get this error - "The system cannot log you on due to the
following error: The specified domain either does not
exist or could not be contacted. Please try again or
consult your system administrator."
First of all there is no system administrator. For 300
dollars I should at least be able to use this. Somebody
tell Bill I'm pissed.

When you installed XP Pro, you have the option of setting it up for a
standard workgroup or for connection to a domain. It appears you chose the
domain option. Start over and this time don't select the domain option.
