Access 2002 is asking me for a Logon and Password when I try to open any
existing file or try to create a new one.
This is on a single home computer with no network.
I have never set a password. I've had no need to.
I've uninstalled Office and re-installed with no success.
How do I get past this?

More than likely, someone was "playing around" and did set a password or set
up security. The logon data is stored in a file named system.mdw. If you
have no idea what your password may be, search your system for any files
with the extension .mdw After uninstalling Office, make sure that all of
those files have been deleted, before reinstalling. Be aware that you may
lose anything created with the old system.mdw.

There are password crackers that may work, but I have never tried any of
them and cannot vouch for their effectiveness.

Actually, all that's needed is that you rename all the *.mdw files. Upon
opening Access it'll create a pristine system.mdw
