Im getting this error on some of my work stations when
they try to connect to folders on my server. he odd thing
about it is that I can connect usuing the IP address any
Ideas on this. Im under pressure to solve this

\\<servername> is not accessible

yes they are it just started happening yesturday for some
reason rior to that we never had a problem

Have you checked the ipconfig/all on the clients? Does everything point to
your server-IP?

Are you running NetBIOS over TCP/IP?
Is WINS installed?

computername = NetBIOS name

If you can get there by IP, then connectivity is there but NetBIOS naming is
not.
Can you ping the FQDN? ex. server.domain.com or server.internal.domain.com

If everything works but: ping servername
....then it sounds like a NetBIOS naming issue.
