Logon failed after removing from domain

Khor

I have recently removed my computer from domain and
changed it to local workgroup, but after I reboot, and it
failed to logon using same ID and password. It says "The
system could not log you on. Make sure your user name and
domain are correct, then type your password again. ..."

I have also attempted to restore "previous know boot
configuration", but it's still the same. Please help.
Thank you.

Well, if you are using the same account name you've used while the box was a member of domain, it's no wonder - since the machine is no longer in domain, it won't recognize your credentials. Use local account and password to log on.

The previous known configuration is called "last known good configuration" and will
not rollback what your problem is. It generally is used to roll pack registry changes
from failed hardware installations due to wrong or corrupt drivers. You need to find
the local administrator password, which if you have a company computer that belongs
to a business domain, from either a domain administrator or if it is your computer

If you computer is a member of domain (and not a DC) you can use two types of accounts to log on: domain accounts - from the domain this computer is a member of, from other domains in the forest or other domains trusted by this computer's domain. Or, you can use a local account to log on - stored in the local computer's SAM (Security Accounts Manager) database. If your computer is not a member of any domain, your only option is to use local accounts. If you don't know a password for any local account with administrative privileges, you are screwed - and there are tools which can help you resolve this, such as CIA Commander or ERD Commander.

Khor,

Now that you are in a workgroup, you will need to logon as the local
administrator (or another local account). When you hit ctrl-alt-del, you
will be prompted for credentials, On the top line, put administrator, On
the second line put the password of the administrator. If this password is
unknown, you will not be able to logon at all (unless there is another
local account with a known password) .
