logitech mouse

My problem is the middle mouse key (scroll key). I don't have a game
controller connected and I've updated my software. The game recognizes the
scroll key when scrolled up and down, but not when pressed as used for
blocking. When in the options > define keys menu, once blocking is selected,
there is no response to pressing the center mouse key. I have a Logitech G5
mouse, could you tell me how to remedy my problem, please?
