logitech Harmony device HID driver failed to load

Plugging in the Logitecht Harmony 628 remote into a USB failed to load
driver. Logitech support says that standard HID drivers from microsoft
should work. How do I verify I have the right HID drivers installed properly
on my xp SP2 machine.

I have gone through this excercise described in this URL. The driver files
are not found. Is there a MS web site where I can download the HID drivers.
The funny thing is the USB device is recognized however the HID drivers are
non existent.
