Logitech Cordless Elite Keyboard Problem

OK, so, about a year and a half ago, I bought the Logitech Cordless MX
Duo, and it has worked fine for me ever since. I never bothered to
install the Logitech drivers for them because the standard Windows ones
have always worked fine for me. Up until a few days ago, I have had no
problems with this keyboard. I went to a LAN party on Saturday, and I
noticed my keyboard was starting to act strange. It would only work at
sporatic intervals, and if it did decide to work, it would work for a
few seconds and then stop again. I thought that maybe my keyboard's
wireless signal was interfering with the wireless signal of one of my
friends who was there. He had a wireless mouse (model unknown) with
him, and I thought that maybe they were on the same frequency, seeing
as how he was having problems with his mouse, too. Then, yesterday, I
was at another LAN party and my keyboard was working fine until my
friend showed up again. I really figured that the signals were just
the same, so I used a wired keyboard that another one of my friends
had. I just unplugged the Logitech one while the computer was running
and plugged in the wired one, and everything worked fine. I got home
from that party and set up my computer again, plugged in all the cables
and such, and turned it on. I got to the XP logon screen and started
typing in my password only to realize that none of the characters that
I was entering were appearing, I tried disconnecting and reconnecting
the keyboard several times and I changed the batteries. After that, I
tried using the "Connect" buttons on my receiver and keyboard. I
pressed connect on the receiver and then connect on my keyboard, but
nothing happened. I tried this a couple more times, and still nothing.
To make sure it wasn't my receiver's connect button screwing up, I
pressed the connect button on my mouse and it worked fine. So, that
leaves me here. I am at a complete loss about how I can get my
keyboard to work. If anyone can help me out, it would be greatly
appreciated.

Call Logitech Support, and they will help you troubleshoot the problem.
If they cannot fix it, and you know when you purchased it and where,
they will ship you an replacement. As you are using a discontinued
product, they will upgrade you, probably to the Cordless Desktop LX
3000.

I have two Cordless desktop MX Duo systems that I recently replaced
with the DiNovo Bluetooth desktop, so if you are interested let me know
and maybe we can work out a deal?

I would first talk to Logitech, though. Most people are unaware of the
warranty and excellent service that Logitech provides. I usually start
with an email question, but as you are out a keyboard, I would call
first.
Hope this helps.

Well, somehow I got it to work again without calling Logitech. I left
the batteries sitting out for a couple of hours on accident, and when I
got home, I put them back in and it worked, surprisingly. Thanks for
your advice, though. I'll follow that if I experience another problem
with this.

Well, it did it again, so I did what you said and contacted Logitech
Support. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, so they're
sending me a new one. Thanks for your help.
