Having trouble with XP pro at home. Not on a network and
when I used to start up, pc booted to desktop. It now
goes to a page where I have to click on my user account
before it logs in to the desktop. Can't find how to
switch this off so I dont have to do this. Any ideas?

Start, run, type in: control userpasswords2, hit enter.

Uncheck: users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.

Xp will then ask you to enter the user and password you want to auto-logon
to.

Download and install tweakui for xp and use its auto-logon feature.
