login problem

Ok after I put in my name and password in windows xp home
edition, my desktop has no icons and when I click on the
start menu I have nothing in there either. If my friend
types in his name and password everything is fine. There
is no administrator on the machine I believe. So I was
just wondering what would be causing this???? Thanks for

There is an Administrator Account - it's hidden . Boot into Safe Mode (F8)
and you'll see it.
