Login Problem

I've been running XP Pro (with the latest updates) for months without problems, until last week. When I boot my laptop the bootup time seems normal. When I login (network login) , all the services and programs in the tray seem to start in the right amount of time. Then there is a very long time (20-30 minutes) before the rest of the startup continues. We have a program that loads all our share drives and checks for application updates. It now takes 20-30 minutes for that process to start. Once it starts it proceeds at a normal pace, then Clearcase VOBs are loaded, etc. I don't know what is causing the long time. I have disabled the Firewall software with no effect. Someone suggested making sure the IPSEC Policy Agent service has the startup type set ti disable. That is already done. Is there a way to debug the problem? To log everything that is happening during login? Any help is greatly appreciated. Also it now takes longer to shutdown (before the drives are unmounted). I don't think it is virus related. I keep the latest virus definitions loaded as well. Thanks.

Also taskmanager shows all idle time, nothing appears to be taking any time.
