In order to connect my work PC to a home network, I changed from a domain to
workgroup, and also changed dynamic IP allocation to fixed IP addr. Now I
cannot log in anymore! I am desperate as its weekend in Europe, the
admistrator is not available, and I need to get a quotation out before
Monday! Any advise?

You can reset the adminstrator's password with a boot disk
from here: http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html
This may be of limited use, since you are unlikely to restore
your usual profile. To restore it requires a certain amount of
additional work.

I also suggest that you ask for your company's support
structure to be reviewed. If the company's staff end up in
desperate situations (your words!) then there is clearly a
need for a 24x7 type support arrangement.

Sincere thank you. I agree with the company support to be reviewed. I will
try the boot disk snd then see how I go from there.

What administrator is unavailable? The one on a ski weekend in Europe
or the one on your home network? Did you try logging on as the local
administrator? The one on your home network?

John

Snow is still scarce this time of the year in Europe. There is a blizzard in
Russia though (Moscow) and that is where I am heading on Monday! It will not
allow logging in as administrator on home network either.
