Hi guys. I networked 5 computers today as a favor to a non-
profit group. Everything was going smothly until I
added "File and Print Sharing" to an 2 year old HP that
was recently upgraded to XP. After it re-started a GUI
Login box appeared with this::

User Name: HP Authorized Custom
Password:

I never gave it a username or password and I certainly
would never use "HP Authorized Custom" as a username in
any case. This machine has all the Director's important
files on it. The cancel button is greyed out. I tried
every itteration of Admin and Administrator. I tried
blank. I tried repeating the username as a password.
Nothing seems to work.

I get this Logon GUI box in Safe Mode and Safe Mode w/
Command Prompt as well. I also tried "Last Known Good"-
Same thing!

I spoke to someone in HP's Bombay office and he never
heard of it although he assumed it was an HP problem. He
promised to add it to their problem database. I think I
heard the sound of paper crumbling.

Is there a solution?? Does any good deed go unpunished?
Thanks.
