I turned off my laptop one day and turned it back on, now it ask me to login
to a domain ? When I go to safemode - Administrator, same thing. I went to
the repair console and used the backup in \repair, same thing. What can I do?
Is there a registry entry that I can change so that it logs into a workgroup,
instead of a domain, so that I can get into my laptop again?
Any advise would help.

Thank you in advance your your help

On the pull down menu where it showes the domain name just select the local
pc name.

Try doing a System Restore (Start menu/all Programs/Accessories/System Restore). Opt to
Restore my computer to an earlier time, click NEXT, select a bold date on the calendar
(bold dates have Restore Points) that is as close to, but prior to when the problem began.
Continue with the System Restore wizard, and see if the problem is solved when the laptop
reboots at the end of the process. In essence what you are doing is swapping the registry
and system settings back to what they were on the date of the Restore Point you select.

Sorry, can't get there from here. As I stated earlier, I cannot even get into
safe mode. I can, however edit the registry if I new what entry to change
from logging into a Domain to a workgroup.
Thank you for you replies

You should have an options button on the logon screen. If you click it
it will display the pull down menu.
