Hi all,

Have a small home network, A,B,C. A&B WIN2K, C = WIN XP.

I can see all machines.

I can access A to B, B to A, C to A & B

When I try to access C from A or B I get the following erro message :

Login failure : the user has not been granted the requested logon type
for this computer.

I have shared some directories. They are all on the same workgroup. I
can ping all machines on the network. II have tried every trick I know
without success. I have disabled firewall in XP and PC Cillian that I
am using...Help appreciated.

Cheers,

Atlas

Thanks for that help, but it's not something I can access
in XP home. I can see that it's a control panel option
for Win 2000 and maybe for XP Pro, but how would we edit
this user rights assignment from XP Home?

Thanks!

Check the local group policy, -Computer
Configuration-Security Settings-Local Policy-User Rights
Assignment,to make sure that "Access this computer from
the Network" contains the appropriate usernames/groups.
Also make sure that "Deny access to this computer" does
not contain the specific usernames/groups and that it
does not contain all-encompasing groups like "Everyone".
