accessing shared resources

John

i have 2 computers networked through a router. computer A has win xp pro,
computer B has win xp home both have SP2 and both are in the same WORKGROUP.

computer B sees computer A when i open "my network places" folder. when i
click on computer A, from computer B, to access shared drives a logon screen
pops up which is fine. i log in, i see the shared devices all is good.

now here is the problem, computer A sees computer B when i open "my network
places" folder. when i click on computer B from computer A i get something
totally different. "\\computer B is not accessible. blah, blah, blah. Logon
Failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this
computer." everthing has been done to grant access to computer B. firewalls
are off. shared permissions are granted. file sharing enabled. same subnet.

anybody have a clue on correcting this....

John,

When your server (Computer B) is running Windows XP Home, it uses Guest
authentication. Since you're stuck with Simple File Sharing, you'll have to use
NTRights (that you must download) to correct this.
