What do I need to have enable to get a log of the scan done by scan disk on
bootup? I was getting a log a while back but now when I do a scan a log
file doesn't show up.

Debbie,

Don't quite understand your question. Were you referring to ChkDsk?

scandisk Not currently supported. Use the chkdsk command, which
enables you to create and display a status report for a disk based on the
file system. Chkdsk also lists and corrects errors on the disk. For more
information about the chkdsk command, see Chkdsk.

There is no Scandisk in Windows XP. The disk checking utility is Chkdsk. To
see its log:

Start>Run>eventvwr.msc [enter]

Click on "Application". In the "Source" column, look for the "Winlogon"
item. Double-click it and you should see the results of your Chkdsk.

And to get to the chkdsk log:
Go to Start > Run and type: eventvwr.msc, and hit enter.
When Event Viewer opens, click on "Application", then scroll
down to the latest "Winlogon" entry and double-click on it. This is the log
created after running Checkdisk.

yeah chkdsk, when I do a chkdsk at bootup I used to get a log file of the
scan but now I don't, do I need to enable something the system services?

Debbie
