I have a very simple question but it is so simple I cannot find the answer
anywhere. I have had answers posted to it but they are always way beyond
what I am asking, so if you can keep this in mind while you're reading the
question I'd appreciate it.

I have a .live account that I use in Outlook 2007. When finished, I cannot
close the program SECURELY. That is, I can hit the 'x' and it shuts down. I
shut down the computer. When I boot up the next morning and open Outlook,
there sits my email for all the world to see. It doesn't ask for a password.
I checked my security settings and there is nothing checked that would allow
me to stay signed onto Outlook. I have been search out an answer for HOURS
and am stumped. Any suggestions to keep me from going totally nuts
appreciated.

Within outlook, rt click Personal
Folders>Properties>Advanced........password
(forgetting a password will mean having to buy third party tools to remove
the forgotten password)

You may also with to configure your version of Win to ask for a Win user
password when you start your PC

Outlook is an offline reader - you don’t sign into it, you sign into the
email account to download mail. You can password protect the pst (right
click on the root, properties, advanced) but it only works for POP3, not
connector accounts. And once you enter the password, its open until you
close outlook. It's also fairly easy to break the password... better is to
get in the habit of locking the computer when you aren't at the keyboard.
(Win key + L)
