All of a sudden my computer is now asking me to log on
when I boot up.
I am the only user and this wasn't happening before.
What can I do to make it go directly to the desktop
without me having to log on?

Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 Uncheck Users must enter a
username and password.......... Click Apply and enter the username that you
want logged in automatically, and the password for that account, if any.

Doug,
I must have done something wrong since I thought I did
what you suggested and now I get an alarm saying unable
to allow access due to restrictions (or something like
that) and then, after I click, I get my owner logon
button again.

How do I correct that?

I tried it and everything worked as he said. I'm using XP
Pro however so that may have something to do with it. I'd
say give it another try and make sure that you get the
password correct.

Rodney

Make sure that you're not leaving Administrator as the user to log on. Use
YOUR username.
