I have always logged on without selecting any user name
and password. However, I am now required to select a user
name on startup. How can I revert back to my old logon
procedure?
Thanks.

Type control userpasswords2 and clear Users Must Enter A Name.

Pardon my ignorance, but where exactly do you type this in............

The Registry???????

Hi

You type it in from Start>Run. Then uncheck 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer' and click 'Apply'. On the next screen - 'Automatically Log On' delete the name 'Administrator' from the User name box and enter your account name and then the password in the next two boxes. OK your way out and then reboot your system.

Thanks Will,

I get the picture now,I appreciate it very much

for clarifying this for me.
