Log on screen

I seem to have lost my Log on screen. I am taken directly to my desktop. How
can I get back to clicking on my little dog before I get to the desktop?
Please and thank you.
 
1. Go to Start->Run
2. Type control userpasswords2
3. Check Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer
