Password won't come on.

Had friend fix my computer and download Defender. Now my password screen
won't show up to log on to computer. I have system set up to shut off after
5 minutes of being idle. After hitting any key, password screen is supposed
to show to log back on. When I hit key now, it goes directly to desktop
without having to log on with password. How can I get security password
screen to show back up?

Depending on your version of WinXP:-

Right click on the desk top, select properties, select Screen Saver Tab.
check "On resume, display welcome screen."
or
check "On resume, password protect"
