log on MicrosoftExchange error message

I am attempting to retreive my adress book located in Outlook to use in
Word. Under Tools - Envelopes and Labels - Adress book icon - the following
message appears :_
Logon failed you must logon to Microsoft exchange to access your adress book.
Error code - inspecified error.
Can anyone help me with this please?
 
Not really. You've provided no information.
Include your Outlook version and your default mail program.
Specify your mail account type and how you've configured your Outlook
Address Book.
