Log On/Log Off - Urgent Advice required

Seen many people suffering the same problem of being
logged off by XP. Not sure if this a virus. Common
solution seems to be a reinstall using the XP dics. I do
not have these only the PC manufacturers restore discs.
1) Can I use anyones XP disc to try a restore? I was
thinking of a family member or friend who may have a some
when they built a pc
2) If all else fails and before I go for a complete
reinstall would a specialist be able to recover some of
my documents by getting to my hard disc first?

Thanks for reading.

Hi,

If you have the restore CDs it means that you are having an OEM Version and nothing else will help u restore it from other CDs. You can use the restore CD to restore the system.

How you resolve this depends on what is happening or in your case causing
the issue. What are the symptoms of your being "logged off" by XP and
please define "logged off" in the context in which you are using it.

Problem solved. Caused by adaware making a change to my
registry thus preventing me logging onto to my user name.
Thanks for your help though.
