I have my power options set for the system to standby and when I wiggle
my mouse I have the screen where I have to click on the "administrator"
button to start windows. There is only one user in my house and I used
to be able to just go straight to the desktop before having to
reinstall my OS. How do I fix this?

I was using Win XP Home and am now using XP Pro.

Thanks!!

Go to Control Panel and double click Power Options.
In Power Options, click on the Advanced tab.
Remove the check mark from the box next to "Prompt for password
when computer resumes from standby".
Click OK.

Good luck

I did that and it is already NOT checked.

Do I understand this correctly, the only account on the system is the built
in Administrator account? If that's the case you should not use the built
in Administrator account for day to day activities. Keep it as a fall back
in case something corrupts the normal working profile. Create at least one
account with administrator privileges and one limited user account. It's
best to use the limited user account for normal activities. Once the
accounts are created copy the data from the Administrator account to the
account of choice.
