Your not old fasioned, but i am trying hard to remember what the setting was
for your error I do not have a dial up account now to check it.

the setting for it is in Intrnet Explorer>tools>internet
options>connection>settings>dial up settings-advanced.
Click the Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed check box to
select it. Or if selected remove the check.
Get back if this does not sort it.

Uncheck 'Hang up after sending and receiving'.
