I added another email address and now each time Microsoft mail starts it
requests I enter user name and password for each. I updated the properties
tab with the passwords and check remember password but it doesn't stay
checked. I don't want to have to log in each time I access email. Please
advise what I need to do to correct this. Prior to the added address I
never had this problem.

Thanks.

Either you are entering the wrong username/password, or else that
account is corrupted. One thing you might try as a possible quick fix
is to delete that corrupted account, restart Windows Mail, then
recreate that mail account. If that doesn't fix it, more drastic
measures will have to be taken.

That type of account corruption is often caused by interference from
a non-compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem,
consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to
suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus programs.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:

I am using McAfee. I will turn off the email scanning in McAfee. I have
deleted the mail account before and reentered it but still had the same
problem.

McAfee antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
Sometimes it takes a while before symptoms start showing up.
Just turning off email scanning in McAfee is seldom sufficient.
The only way you can prove or disprove that McAfee is the culprit is to
uninstall it, followed by using their debris removal tool:

If you decide to replace McAfee, we can recommend a free antivirus
program which is more compatible with Windows Mail:

AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
and
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

However, with either of those, during the install phase you must select
'custom' install, and then deselect the email scanning module so it won't install.

Instead of switching to a different antivirus, another option is to upgrade
to Windows Live Mail (WLM), which is more resistant to the adverse effects
of overly intrusive antivirus products: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Would Outlook have the same issues with McAfee. I had the same problem on
Outlook.

Thanks

The only precaution necessary for using McAfee with Outlook
is to make sure the email scanning option is disabled.
